Life before 101 Financial wasn’t bad. I wouldn’t say we were struggling, but things were not easy either. We both worked and had good jobs. We paid our bills on time and didn’t think we had crazy debt. But it was as if we weren’t satisfied and were always looking for ways to have more. More time, more money, more experiences. We thought we were doing well. But to look back on it…we were living only for that moment. We had a small savings. Not anything that would be able to bail us out of an unexpected situation though. What came in, went right back out. And with that, came a lot of arguments and blaming. It was frustrating.
I attended a in home workshop at a friend’s driveway under some pop-up tents back in 2008 by myself. We had just purchased our home and were expecting kid #3. I listened to the testimonies, but what got me the most, was the possibility to beat the amortization schedule to pay off my home in less than 30 years. I wanted in, however, convincing my husband was going to be the biggest challenge. Sadly, we did not enroll in 2008.
Fast forward to July 2017. We had 23 more years to go on our mortgage, added kid #4, accumulated $11K of debt on a credit card, $20K on a personal loan and credit scores in the low 600’s. I had also left my job after 13 years which put us in a 1 income household. How were we going to do this? I panicked a lot during this time. I had to do something different and the only thing that I could think of was 101 Financial. I’d continue to hear success stories over the years since we first learned about 101, so I was determined to get my husband to see what I knew could happen for us.
Basically, I explained, what we were doing…was not working and we needed help. I reached out to BJ, and I told her…. We ready! When can we do this? She invited us to the very next workshop and without hesitation, we signed up.
We started in 99 at the end of that month, then by September we graduated to 101 and the very next week, we paid off our $11K credit card debt. Ten months on the 101 system we eliminated our conventional mortgage and paid off a $20K personal loan. In the total 2 ½ years that we have been using the 101 system, we’ve completely remodeled our bathroom, paid for our son’s college tuition every semester in full, have taken multiple mainland and inter island trips, and recently enlisted as an Instructor.
What we have gained from 101 Financial is immeasurable. I am forever grateful to Alan and his vision and the awesome team members and instructors. The blessings continue to come, and I cannot wait to share my triumphs with everyone so they too can experience the best life they can imagine.
