We were living paycheck to paycheck and living on a very tight budget while not being able to put any major dents into our debt. Like so many others across the country, we would look forward to our yearly tax returns yet we always spent more than we used to pay our debts. We had heard of the successes of 101 students across various social media platforms and that had always peaked our interest. However, we were trying to manage our debt on our own and figured we could do it if we really buckled down. But then, the pandemic hit. Reggie's hours got cut while Ola was pregnant with our 5th child. We finally decided to take the first step towards financial freedom by enrolling in the 101 system so we could effectively make use of our money. We started about $80,000-$90,000 in debit with monthly debt payments well over $2000 and no end in sight. Roughly 10 months after joining 101, we have cut our debt nearly in half to just over $50,000 and our monthly debt payments have gone down by over $1000! We paid off our credit cards, Reggie's student loans, one of our cars, and two of Ola's student loans. Most importantly, we no longer live paycheck to paycheck and we no longer feel the financial stress that comes from being in debt with no clear path to being free.
